Penny War

For 1 week in December, at Beau's school they have a penny war. Each class has a jar where the students can bring in loose change to help out needy families in the area. Last year they earned a lot of money from just change. You can also bomb other classes by putting nickels, quarters, or dimes in there jars. The pennies and dollar bills are a plus for your class, they silver is not. At the end of all this, the class with the most gets a small trophy to keep in there class for the year.

Now that I've explained this all to you, I can tell you the funny part. Tobias's dad, Grandpa Mike collects his change in jars, after telling them about the penny war, Grandma Marsha gave Beau a bag of pennies. The next morning I counted them, while Beau got ready for school. There was a total of $2.00 dollars = 200 pennies. When I told Beau that there was 200 pennies, he got this sad look on his face. I said, "what's wrong?" In this sweet voice he said, "I took ALL of Grandpa's savings!" All I could do was laugh! I reminded him that even though 200 was a lot, when it came to pennies, it was only 2 dollars. His response was, but 2 dollars is a lot of money. Bless his heart!

Brevan did it!

Bransen likes to blame Brevan for the funniest things. I asked Bransen, If he had taken a bite out of this cookie? His response was "NO, Brevan DID IT!" Oh, Brevan that is strapped into his high chair and about 10 ft away. To make a quit comparison, he took another bite and said, "It matches my bite, I guess it was me!"

Fishy Ice Cubes

Bransen is often my comic relief! It seems like he is alway doing something to make me laugh. While I was emailing a friend, he was making fishy ice cubes. "Do you like them? They are swimming, and they got stuck in the ice!" LOL, the mind of a 4 year old!

I like my contacts!

Well we still have troubles putting them in, but things have gotten a lot better! He no longer feels the contacts in his eyes. Whewwww! Thank goodness they are the day and night ones, that way we don't have to take them out everyday. It must have been a parent that came up with the day and night contacts. Smart, smart people.

Contacts...Oh My!

Once again I know nothing about glasses or contacts. Today I took Beau to get measured for contacts. At the doctors office, he was being a total pill! He said that his eyes were very itchy and he wanted the contacts out now! I knew that the doctor had put in some numbing drops, so I new it was all in Beau's head. Don't get me wrong, I know it must feel weird to have plastic covering his eye. But good heck, he was being a drama queen. Now he is fine, traveling all over the neighborhood showing his friends. We will see how it goes in the next couple of weeks.

Followers

I think it's so funny that I have followers. I feel very Charles Manson like. I'm going to start putting subliminal messages into my posts, so I can control your mind. That is too funny!

Cute and Funny

Brevan is now at the stage where everything he does is cute and funny! He keeps us laughing everyday, as he's learning new things. His word of the day was Goofy, the name of our 6 toed cat. He has always called her foofy, but today he said it, Goofy. He has also learned to blow kisses and climb out of his high chair. The picture above was taken by Tobias the other night, we have no idea how he can sleep with a pillow over his face but he likes it. He gets into a lot of trouble, but he is so much fun!

SNOW

I love snow!

It was so much fun to wake up and see snow! I wasn't expecting it at all. I was even more surprised when Tobias took the motorcycle to work this morning. He told me that he felt like a SNOWMAN.

Brevan

Brevan is now 16 months old. It seems that he is learning new words everyday and starting to put words together. On Saturday he handed Tobias a diaper and said, "DaDa more stinky." He wasn't really, but oh it was cute!
His favorite is... more, which he also knows the sign for. He is so much fun! Today while he was eating breakfast, I called for Beau and Bransen to come upstairs. Brevan yells Beau, Bransen. This is the first time he has ever said Bransen, and he has been waiting for so long. Bransen says, "He does love me!" Oh the little things that make them so HAPPY!

Happy Halloween

Halloween happens to be our favorite holiday! We have so much fun every year! This year the boys had some really great costumes! Beau-Harry Potter, Bransen-Astronaut, Brevan-Skunk. I think it's so much fun to dress up. Thanks to The Netcher's for a scary good time!

Strike 2 for Team Peterson

Ok, so I'm not up for the Mother of the year award...

A few weeks back we went to Lagoon. While we were there I noticed Beau squinting to read some larger letters. I had never seen this before. Beau has never complained about not being able to see things, nor has he had trouble reading. I took him to the eye dr. yesterday and much to my surprise...he is pretty farsighted 20/50.

No idea...I felt like a complete idiot!!! The dr. was wondering how he has managed to keep up with his class, and even be above grade level? The time and energy that he has HAD to use, to just get his eyes to focus is exhausting. Everytime he reads a book, his eyes are running a marathon. The dr. say glasses or contacts...I don't know...20/20 here.

Of course we have no vision plan, who needed one. Don't think that just because you and your spouse have 20/20 that your children will.

I think after my pocket book recovers, I will be making Bransen an appointment also...he often runs into things...like rocks! LOL...I just have to laugh. If I don't, I just might cry. Please let next week be boring!

August 25, 2008 STITCHES

Hello Everyone,
I'm very surprised that Bransen made to 4 years old without stitches. Yes, he's had a concussion and many other things but never stitches.
Beau has managed to stay in one piece for 8 years. Our winning streak has come to an end. (Usually it's Tobias getting stitches...at least 10 sets.)
Bransen was riding his bike down our neighbors driveway, when he hit a rock and flew off his bike landing head first into a very pointy rock. Leaving a deep but little cut in his head. My neighbor boy came running into the house, "Jackie, Jackie....Bransen's bleeding really bad from his head." I thought, Oh great as I calmly grabbed a towel from the kitchen. Yes, I've learned how to stay calm. The neighbor boy was right, blood everywhere! I said,"Yep, we're going to need stitches, off to the hospital we go."
Beau was having a harder time than Bransen was, so I left him with my neighbor. Beau would have freaked out at the hospital!
At the hospital...after a long wait and some numbing cream, he was ready. Those nurses at the hospital are very smart, they made him a Batman cape out of a pillow case. They stuck his arms down in it, behind him. He cried a little bit when they gave him the numbing shot, after that he was just fine. What a brave little Batman. We came home, and off he ran to show off his new battle wound to all of his friends. He's so full of it!

Gallbladder email from May

Hello Everyone,

I have made it down to the computer. Someday we will be high tech with a lap top. Then I could have incoherently emailed everyone, instead of calling them. If I talked to you on Friday, sorry for the mumbling.

Thursday- I love that the hospital never tells you, that they're 2 hours behind until your sitting bare backed in one of those stupid gowns.
I was very nervous after waiting 2 hours, then they brought me back to the or pre-op. Being wheeled around in a hospital bed is enough to make anyone barf! The lovely little pre-op nurse, is the same one that managed to stick me 3 times and blow out a vein in September, when I had the bone spur removed off my head.
Oh, so happy to see her! For any of you that don't know, I HATE NEEDLES!
This time, she got on the 1st try, whew! I was really nervous about having a tube stuck down my throat, never had that before. I guess there's a 1st time for everything!
After 2 plus hours of surgery, I wake up to them saying, Jackie you have to breath! Well hello, I think I am. Aren't I? Apparently not enough, the blasted machine wouldn't shut up. Jackie, breath deep, try and cough. Hello, I have 5 holes in my stomach, I'm not coughing! (Dean, I know your loving this!) Something in the anesthesia always makes me very itchy, I could itch my face right off! They shoot me up with benadryl and everything else, and they expect me to breath. I just wanted to sleep!
This seemed to go on for hours, even after they took me out to my own room where Tobias was waiting. I was expecting to be home by 3:00 pm. I wasn't even out of surgery until 3. Once again, I just wanted to sleep, I promise to breath.

After coming too, I was very thirsty. Plus I wanted to go home! I drank 3 diet cokes, 6 waters, orange juice, apple juice. Let me add, all of these were 12 oz. After several attempts of going to the bath room, nothing worked! And to add to that every time I got up, the nausea took over. I couldn't go, we tried everything...things I'd never even heard of, like smelling ammonia. I couldn't go. At about 9:50 pm I managed to get out a couple of drops, and they let me go home! Thankgoodness!

OH, I almost forgot, my gallstones were the talk of the hospital! They were big, green and very nasty looking. I guess they must have been expanding my gallbladder, Oh the pain!!!!!!!! I have the pictures if you'd like to see them.

I do believe at Walgreen's pharmacy, I called the pharmacist a dumbass. When he couldn't find the prescriptions that we had just sent him. Sorry!

Home! It was so nice to be home! After getting comfy in bed, I had a nice 1 hour rest...then it happened...my bladder began to work again...every 30 minutes until 4 am...and then it was every hour until 9 am. My stomach has never hurt so bad! Big mistake! I should have bought some depends!

Friday- I was so tired and in pain from my ups and downs, that Friday is a blur!

I have tried to rest as much as I can. I can't believe how tired I am! My body is sucking all of the energy to heal. My stomach still hurts pretty bad. The incisions in the belly button is not a good idea! I should have asked for it else where. I don't care about the scar, I haven't wore a bikini in about 10 years. I have been trying to stick to doctors orders, for 4 weeks I'm not supposed to lift anything over 20 lbs....that means Brevan. Yeah right, he is all ready going through MOM withdrawls. He just wants me to hold him!

Thank you to my Mother for dealing with my crazy children for hours and hours! Thank you to Jane for stealing my kids Monday and Tuesday so I could rest. Thank you to Tobias for letting me hog the whole bed and and taking such good care of me!
Thank you for all your prayers, calls and thoughts! They have been greatly appreciated!

I better go, it's past nap time!

Love, Jackie
I'm just starting out, at this whole blog thing. I hope I can keep it up. I need to learn how to make it a lot of fun, for my family and friends to look at.
